Panatela's Arabian sire, Brusally Orzetyn, competed in dressage and won against warmbloods up to Prix St. Georges level, and also competed in horse trials. Panatela's Polish Trakehner dam, Korona, was sired by Sobol, a half-brother to the approved stallion Sobek. Sobol's sire, Harbin, was known as a sire of jumpers. Korona's dam, Kielcza, was by Dyskobol, who also sired the approved stallion Cienin.

Like her sire, Panatela had a long and successful dressage career. She competed to Fourth Level and garnered several regional awards. Panatela retired sound from competition at age 19. She still enjoys trail riding, a little dressage, and jumping.
